Portable Well Testing Equipment and Test Separators
EN-FAB Inc provides portable well testing equipment and test separators for accurate measurement of oil, gas, and water, improving field performance and reducing testing costs. EN-FAB Portable Well Test Separator deliver accurate repeatable results and significantly lower well testing costs as one system can be used to test many wells. Proper evaluation of a large producing field with numerous wells requires accurate and frequent well tests. These tests allow an operator to optimize a field’s performance by shutting-in wells, working them over, or stimulating them. Conventional well testing involves gravity separation of the production stream into oil, water, and gas. This requires pumps, tanks, heaters, and pressure vessels and several hours of testing for each well.
EN-FAB, Inc’s DAN‐STM® steam quality measurement system consists of an orifice meter and a choke arranged in series with the choke placed downstream of the orifice meter. A conventional straight “bean” type choke requires a minimum of 50% pressure reduction to achieve critical flow. The pressure drop requirement is not always feasible, particularly in higher pressure systems. To minimize this difficulty, EN‐FAB Inc. employs a Pressure Recovery Venturi (PRV) nozzle within a conventional type choke body bean. The PRV design reduces the minimum pressure drop requirement to 20% of the inlet pressure.
The flow computer uses the orifice equation and Napier equation to solve for these values. By employing simultaneous equations solution method, first one parameter is solved for; i.e. mass rate, followed by using the value in either equation to obtain the other parameter; i.e., steam quality. The resulting values of these two parameters will satisfy both equations. Graphically, this is where the lines for each equation intersect. However, the orifice equation and the Napier equation cannot be used in their pure mathematical form, theoretically determined empirical constants are incorporated in the calculations that give accuracy to the results.
