What This Training Covers
The name matters here. This isn’t leadership and management in the broad sense. It’s program management specifically, which means overseeing a set of related projects, each with its own project manager, rather than running a single project yourself.
It sits at AQF Level 6, the same framework level as an associate degree. Nationally, the qualification is built for people who already direct and coordinate other people’s project work, not for someone managing their first project solo.
That distinction is worth sitting with before you enrol. If you’re still hands-on running one project at a time, a program management qualification will feel like a step removed from your day-to-day. It’s built for the layer above that.

Some providers market potential outcomes more broadly, listing titles like Project Director or Project Management Section Leader alongside Program Manager. Those are reasonable adjacent roles, but it’s worth knowing the qualification’s actual design centre is program-level oversight, not a single project handed to you to run.
